As an agent who's an expert in this local area, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise about buying and selling real estate here. It's not the same everywhere, so you need someone you can trust for up-to-date information. I am eager to serve you. Here are some of the things I can do for you:
Find Your Next Home
You need someone who knows this area inside and out! I can work with you to find the right home at the right price for you, including all the neighborhood amenities that matter - not to mention the essential criteria you have for your ideal home
Sell a Home
When it's time to move, you need someone who will advertise your home, show to prospective buyers, negotiate the purchase contract, arrange financing, oversee the inspections, handle all necessary paperwork and supervise the closing. I can take care of everything you need, from start to close.
Consult on Home Selling Tactics
Oftentimes buyers don't visualize living in your home the way you do. I can make your home attractive to its ideal audience - which can help you get top dollar. Things like staging the home, making repairs or minor improvements, or even simply painting the walls can be the difference between a home resting on the market and one that's sold fast.
Full-Time Realtor
Since 2016, I've been a full-time residential Realtor. Building on my previous experience as a Realty Specialist (General Services Administration) specializing in Commercial Leasing, a Contracting Officer (Federal contract decision-maker and executor of leasing commercial leasing contracts), and working as a clerk at HUD, FHA and at a Closing Attorney, a career in residential Real Estate was the next logical step. Specializing in homes, farms, and investment property in Middle Tennessee.

Barbara (or Barb) grew up in central Alabama. The daughter of a Methodist pastor, she developed a love of construction while working on various mission/construction projects. She earned a B.S. degree in Psychology from Birmingham-Southern College in 1987. After college, she obtained employment with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development in Birmingham, Alabama as a Clerk/Typist, and eventually a Closing Clerk with FHA. She transferred to General Services Administration (GSA), procurement agency for the federal government in the Real Estate Leasing Division. There she received extensive training on real estate marketing, contracting, complex lease negotiations, property management, building systems, and alterations. She has been dispatched in support of FEMA to find habitable office space following a hurricane. In 1995, she married Craig Mahy, originally from Oregon. She left federal service to enjoy raising their two daughters full time; both are now in college. In 2001 the family moved to middle Tennessee. As the girls grew, Barb enjoyed volunteering at their church in children's ministry where she was eventually hired in a full time staff ministry position.
